Suppose a raffle has 100 prizes and sells 1000 tickets. If I buy one, I have a 10% chance of winning. If I buy two tickets, I have a 20% chance of winning. What if I buy 10 tickets? That doesn’t make it 100% certain I’ll win something. I’m only certain of winning when I buy 991 tickets. So how should I calculate the probability of winning if I buy 10 tickets?
