fundraising
hotthespianaction115 asked:

My drama class at school just had every bit of their funding cut and we need fun ideas for fundraising! We have no money to begin with and our school is very small so nothing too extravagant and nothing that costs a lot to do, preferably. Thank you!

You could put together a series of monologues or short skits in sort of a ‘festival’ style, and then charge $5 or something for admission. If possible, do a ‘buy out’, meaning have it run during class time. Students could pay to get out of class and come see your ‘production’.

Do skits, etc. that costumes can easily be put together from clothes that you have at home or (if you have one) the dept.’s costume closet.

If possible, you could even have the visual arts classes (if you have them) make a few inexpensive painted backdrops or something for you. :)
It’d be fun for everyone- both those participating and those watching. Perhaps invite another school to come and see your ‘production’ and hype up the program a little.

    Hope this helps!

Charge admission and host a talent show, theatrical performance, or other play or show.

Then take that show on the road, too: parks during this spring coming up, community & senior centers, and other places locally.

Also have some helpers selling t-shirts, baked goods, etc. at a table in the back :) Heck, create a logo for the event and upload it to CafePress and go to town with stuff to sell with your logo: mugs, pet t-shirts, etc.

Good luck - here’s to your successful money-raising!
