raffle
Networking Events asked:

I’m holding a networking event on 6/28 in Manhattan and am looking for raffle donations. Does anyone know of any companies that would be interested in exchanging raffle donations for free email and web promotion of their business? Be as specific as possible.

First of all, it will be quickest and easiest for you to work with locally owned businesses, since you are in a bit of a time crunch. And of course, you want to talk to businesses that target your group’s demographic. If your networking group is asian business professionals, then you probably want to speak with businesses owned by asian professionals, this would be a good way to bring more people to your networking group as well.

I would consider local technology outlets, ask for the latest gizmo or accessory in exchange for promotion, and of course, invite them to the event. I would talk to higher end restaurant owners in the area who might cater to the high powered lunch crowd, and some of the retailers who have storefronts near where the event will be hosted.

I would also approach businesses that offer services to the business professionals you hope to have in your group. Good examples are temporary agencies, insurance groups, and business consulting organizations.

Make sure you ask yourself is what is in it for them? When you approach them, speak about the demographics of the people who will be attending as well as the number of people who are expected and let them consider the business possibilities of having their product or service displayed at your event and within your organization. Offer the donators a “special” invitation to your event.

Sounds like you are doing a lot to put this together, I hope to hear how it goes!
